About me

Introduction

I am an engineer-turned designer, armed with Bachelors of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Design and Innovation.

I’m a very curious kid, fascinated by everything that exists, and anything that moves. As a result, I’m not only interested in how things work, but also why they work (or don’t) the way they’re supposed to!

As a result, I have tons of hobbies, some of which I’m super serious about and I’m always on the lookout of the next best experience!

As a kid, I loved cars, bikes and aeroplanes. Basically everything that made cool noises and looked gorgeous and intimidating.

I was also a big fan of reading. I used to read a lot of comics such as Asterix, Tintin, Tinkle as well as some magazines such as Readers’ Digest.

Once I came across a competition organised by Toyota in Readers’ Digest where they invited kids from all around the world to doodle futuristic looking cars, and the winner recieved cash prizes as well as a chance to tour the factory.

8-ish year old me, absolutely not at all fascinated by the prize money, but at the chance to tour the factory and have a dialogue with the actual automobile engineers, I immediately knew that’s what I wanted to become. An engineer, and then a designer!

The contest was stopped before I got a chance to participate in it, but nevertheless, passion for designing something cool kept me going!!

During my Engineering (and thanks to a lot of events and extra-curricular activities), I got a lot of opportunities to make cool stuffs ranging from developing circuit boards for custom electronics, to making longest flying unpowered gliders.

It was during this period where I got introduced properly to the field of graphic design, where I felt a lot of other potential career options open up to me.

As a graphic designer with really good seniors and mentors, not to toot my own horn, but I became quite good at it in a very short period of time.

I designed a lot of artworks (posters, standees, backdrops, IDs, certificates, concert screen visuals) not only for my own committee, but also helped out my friends in exchange for soft drinks and vada pav!

After engineering, I got into ISDI Parsons for Postgraduate Diploma in Design and Innovation. As someone who just knew UI/UX design, this course gave me insight into all the possible avenues in the design.

I did a lot of cool projects that involved out of the box thinking, some of which are on the path to get their patents and some which went on to be the finalists in competitions held internationally. And it justifies me saying that I absolutely loved each and every part of it!

After 2 years of work experience in a Venture Capital startup that was built around Design Thinking, doing all sorts of miscellanous works like infrastructure setup for internal workflows, setting up project management softwares,

Interests and hobbies

I have a lot of hobbies, but there are a handful that I’m really passionate about. I’m an (self proclaimed) endurance cyclist who’s done some cross state bikepacking tours, I’m also a musician and a gamer.

Not only my hobbies provide me with a change in my schedule, I somehow believe that they also play a role in developing my personality, and percolate up to some extent in my work as well!
